During my time with BPM, I spent a large amount of time working on the brand Isoki. Isoki was one of the brands entirely created and owned by BPM, and their focus was selling stylish nappy bags to busy mums. I essentially did everything that involved visuals for the brand, besides the product design. This included product photography, catalogues, packaging and even a logo rebranding.

Below is a small snippet of my design process when creating the new Isoki logo/monogram, which is still used even now. The brief was to create a monogram that could be used as hardware on the bags, and for other branding collateral as well. An elevated monogram that could be instantly recognisable, similar to Mimco, Coach or Louis Vuitton, but retaining the feel and family values of the brand.

I designed hundreds of iterations of the monogram, all with lots of curves and soft, flowing shapes - evoking the feeling one might have for their maternal figure. Once a few were settled on we then ordered them in gold-plated hardware, as it was integral to be sure they were clear in 3D as well as 2D. In the end we went with the logo on the last image, as it is an abstract shape of a person, with the circle inside being a womb, or baby. We felt the inclusion of ‘Isoki’ engraved on the monogram was important as well, to increase brand awareness any way possible.
